The Writer In Me

My Bio

Grinding 24/7 1st Place Winner “The Pitch List Script, Book, Film Competition” book category for my novel, “Drayton Clarke, Tools of the Trade. October 2016. (see Creative Works) Attended Southern New Hampshire University in pursuit of a B.A. Creative Writing w/Concentration on Screenwriting (online) and was doing hella well til the Pell grant ran out. (2016) Shiznit! Completed Works: Novels: “Drayton Clarke, Tools of the Trade” “Dare I Say No?” “Intake, the Measure of Air” In Process: “Drayton Clarke, Tools of the Trade” - TV Pilot “Dare I Say No?” - Screenplay “Don’t Kill Xylah!” = TV Pilot I also have a Reality TV treatment that I am developing. Why I believe I’m ready “now” vs. before when I began writing for the screen years ago? The best thing I’ve done on my screenwriting journey is to recognize my audience. Not for the screenplays themselves - that I knew first hand because my audience is me, people like me, those who’ve experienced life from my side of the fence and those who have an interest in seeing life portrayed on the big screen from that perspective. I’m speaking on the audience best suited to judge the validity of my creative works. Those who will understand them enough to know if they work or not, if they need tweaking and in what way they may be tweaked - the best way based on what they are and not what someone outside of that understanding thinks they should be. Short term goals (2017): Revise, republish, and market 2 or more of my novels May - June 2017 Complete TV pilot, ” Drayton Clarke, Tools of the Trade,” and submit for consideration 2017 Complete screenplay, “Dare I Say No?” and submit for consideration 2017 Lay the ground work for 2 of my extremely funny, off the chain, drama/comedy TV pilots and 1 screenplay.  The screenplay just needs final touches, so it may actually be completed and submitted for consideration in 2017 Long term goals (2018 and beyond): Finish the 2 drama/comedy TV pilots started in 2017 Develop some of my other concepts that I believe are worthy of consideration for screenplay and TV pilots Develop my Reality TV treatment and submit for consideration
